Tsavo East National Park Overview

Tsavo East National Park, a renowned wildlife sanctuary in Kenya, boasts significant populations of lions, African leopards, Kenyan cheetahs, and hosts the annual migration of zebra, Thomson’s gazelle, and wildebeest between July and October, famously known as the Great Migration. Here’s a comprehensive guide to the park fees effective from 2024, aiding travelers in planning their expedition to this iconic park.

Entry Fees for Non-Residents
  • Peak Season (July to December): Adults: USD 200 per day, Children/Students: USD 50 per day.
  • Low Season (January to June): Adults: USD 100 per day, Children/Students: USD 50 per day.
Entry Fees for Residents and Kenyan Citizens
  • Peak Season: Adults: KES 3000, Children/Students: KES 1000.
  • Low Season: Adults: KES 1000, Children/Students: KES 1000.
Camping Fees

If you wish to camp overnight, fees vary depending on residency status and the type of campsite (public or private). Private campsites require a booking fee of KES 10,000.

Vehicle and Other Fees
  • Vehicle Entry: Charges vary based on capacity, ranging from KES 400 for vehicles with less than 6 seats to KES 5,000 for those with 45 seats and above.
  • Ranger Fees: Game drives exceeding 6 hours incur a fee of KES 3,000, while shorter drives and full-night camp security have separate fees.
Payment Modes

Entrance fees can be paid in cash (US Dollars or Kenyan Shillings) at the entry gates. However, only cashless payments (Visa/Mastercard or Mpesa Mobile Money) are accepted for the western side of the reserve, particularly the Mara Triangle – Mara Conservancy area. Cashless options are also available at all other Tsavo East gates, including Sekenani and Talek gates.
